The Home of The Torch Relay Lamp
Protector's Torch Relay Lamps carried the Olympic Flame to Sochi 2014.
The idea of transferring the Olympic Flame by flame safety lamp came from the 1956 Melbourne Games.
A group of German Miners donated their lamps in order for the flame to be transported by aircraft.
Protector's Torch Relay Lamp has been involved in flame transfer for the Sydney Games in 2000,
Athens 2004, Torino 2006, Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010, London 2012, London Paralympics 2012
and Sochi 2014
In June 2013 our lamps carried the Eternal Flame from the Arlington Cemetery to New Ross to light the Emigrant Flame celebrating JKF's historic visit to his ancestral home in 1963.
